I’m a systems-minded product designer with a strong editorial instinct. Enterprise systems, brand rebuilds, and the occasional food shelf — a decade and change of shipping. Right now it’s design innovation at Amazon, and on the side I built a season hub for a 3rd/4th grade girls flag football team, with an interactive playbook.

I live among the pines just outside the Twin Cities, across from a conservancy where the buffalo roam.

How I work

I simplify until the concept feels inevitable.

I’m less interested in whether an interface looks polished than in whether there’s a coherent idea underneath it: what deserves attention, where human judgment belongs, what the system should remember, and what should quietly disappear.

  1. I can sense “generic” almost immediately.
  2. Language, naming, and hierarchy are design decisions, not copy decisions.
  3. I think in systems, but I judge them through the human experience.
  4. I’m comfortable challenging a standard UI pattern when it’s the wrong answer.
  5. Restraint, warmth, continuity, and purpose over decoration.
  6. Playful and irreverent, but never frivolous. A joke still needs conceptual integrity.
  7. A builder’s orientation: see the thing, test it, adjust it, make it real.

A high-taste, systems-oriented designer who uses clarity, language, and restraint to make complex things feel human, and who cares enough about the outcome to be demanding.
